Asian Grief Support Resources

Resources for Asian individuals who are grieving:

1. S.A.F.E. (Support for Asian Families Experiencing Loss) is a support group for Asian families who have lost a loved one. They offer a safe and welcoming space for individuals to share their feelings and experiences with others who understand.

2. The National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) provides mental health resources and support for Asian individuals and families. They offer a directory of culturally competent therapists and support groups.

3. The Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA) has a directory of Asian American psychologists who are trained to provide culturally sensitive counseling and therapy.

4. The National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) provides resources and support for LGBTQ+ Asian individuals and families who are grieving.

5. The National Alliance for Grieving Children has a searchable database of support groups and other resources for children and families who are grieving.

It’s important to remember that everyone grieves differently and there is no & “right” way to grieve. It’s also important to seek out culturally-competent support and resources.

From EveryTown Resource and Policy:

Child and Teen Gun Safety

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens (ages 1 to 19) in the United States. Every year, 19,000 children and teens are shot and killed or wounded and approximately 3 million are exposed to gun violence.

Children and teens in the U.S. are impacted by gun violence in all its forms. Exposure to gun violence has an impact on the psychological and mental well-being of children and teens and affects their school performance, among other factors. When homes, neighborhoods, and schools are not safe from gun violence, entire generations of American children are affected.
