Phillip White

Phillip A. White worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia for 37 years as a Social Worker, primarily in family prevention services.  In 2002 he co-founded the initial Fatherhood Support Initiative in Central Virginia as the program manager and lead group facilitator until his retirement in 2018. 

 Phillip's direct community networking resulted in co-founding the Teenage Fathers’ Support Services and Silent Tears of Men RVA. He earned his certification as a master fatherhood trainer in 2012. He has a B.A. degree in Sociology from Elizabeth City State University. He is the CEO of Six Men Connection, a consultant firm of training the trainers to do fatherhood work. 

Phillip has conducted many community workshops and related family preservation training presentations at the State and local level. He is an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church South Richmond, VA. He is a life member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.   

From his servant’s work, Phillip has been honored with several awards; Richmond Family and Fatherhood Initiative titled the Phillip White Award in 2014. The Dr. Donald R. Stern Fatherhood Legacy award in 2016 and the Charles A. Ballard award as a pioneer in the advancement of the responsible fatherhood field at the 21st International Fatherhood Conference- National Partnership Community Leadership, Inc. in 2019.   

He is the co host of the White Feather Counsel of Men YouTube podcast. Trinity Episcopal Church of Charolettville, VA is the official sponsor of this podcast.  In 2023, Phillip became a board member of Trinity Village Center, a 501 C3 of Trinity Baptist Church of Richmond, VA. In 2025, he created the Central Virginia Network. The primary function of this network is to connect all fatherhood service providers as one unit to ensure effective engagement with men and teenage boys. Research, training and direct support is the foundation of this network to ensure the best outcome be it manhood or fatherhood related activities or groups.      

Phillip is a native of Norfolk, VA. He and his wife, Brenna have  one son, Aaron and one daughter, Lauren.  He lives in Chesterfield County, VA.
